Moi University Top’s Rivals in Latest university rankings; Its School of engineering boosts the rankings higher.
Despite the ongoing tussle over who is to take over the mantle as the Vice Chancellor in Moi University, the academic giant is still a preferred educational giant in the education sector.
The Eldoret based institution has overtaken their arch rival Kenyatta University to get into the top three institution of higher learning in Kenya.
Moi University is a university of choice in the engineering courses, second most preferred school of medicine and education while in journalism, social sciences and communication, it emerges on top.
However, in terms of internet searches in the entire world, the institution has been overtaken by University of Nairobi where the Kenya’s capital city based institution scooped a larger percentage overtaking its Kenyan peers.
Kenyatta University has been termed as an infrastructural hub by the report which adds that its facilities are geared towards a better future despite the fact that the institution is limited in terms of space compared to its peers who have a massive land resources and also were lucky to have benefitted from the colonial infrastructural placements and designs.
However, Nairobi University’s school of medicine is still on top in terms of ratings alongside its school of law which boosts a number of high flying alumnus and top level government officials.
In Africa, University of Nairobi improved in rankings alongside Moi University and Nakuru based Egerton University while JKUAT additionally got some more ratings as it is posed as the most successful institution in Agricultural technology based courses in the region.
Strathmore University also managed to get into top five in Kenya with Nairobi taking the top slot followed by Egerton and Moi University taking the number 3 slot.
The results however, were according to the 4International College and Universities rankings.
