Yesterday was Raila’s bad day in office. The former premier who is used to political rhetoric on a daily basis is currently engaged in a political tour in Malindi.
They were holding parallel rallies with the deputy president to campaign for the candidates affiliated to their camps.
ODM convoy was visible only on the streets whereas the moment they got on the official ground where they were to hold a political rally, people deserted the place. Only a handful of people turned up for their rally. The small crowd consisted of children and people who are thought not to be eligible voters.
On the other hand, the Jubilee brigade enjoyed some good moments as they traversed Malindi town and its environs.
Raila who is campaigning for the ODM Candidate Willy Mtengo, however, went on with the political rally alongside other ODM legislators.
CORD is said to be slowly losing ground in the coastal region which was thought to be their stronghold.
The Jubilee administration has been making in-roads in the region for the last close to four months and political pundits have projected a positive influx of a warm reception from the residents.
Philip Charo, the Jubilee candidate is enjoying support from two thirds of the Malindi legislators among them former Cord parliament minority leader Mung’aro.
Malindi residents are warming up for Jubilee basket of goodies. Deputy Presidents Rally in Malindi town yesterday was packed to capacity as they drummed up support for Phillip Charo.
Area residents are now shunning CORDS rhetoric’s which haven’t bred any fruits despite the fact that they have consistently supported ODM for years. The By-election will be held on 7th of this month alongside Kericho senatorial contest.
