We will Forcefully Evict Nyoro Construction Company; Charged Mathioya residents Threaten.
Residents and commuters who use Njumbi-Gacharageini-Mioro road in Mathioya, Murang’a County is an angry lot following the unfolding deplorable condition of their road following heavy rains that are ongoing in the area.
The road has completely become impassable following heavy rains in the region. They accuse Nyoro Construction Company for failure to put up measures to ensure the road is still navigable even as the contractor struggles with excavation works to tarmac the 41KM road.
In the year 2012, the central government allocated Ksh.2.4 billion to tarmac the 41KM Gitugi-Njumbi-Mioro road and was supposed to be completed by February 2015.
The road has lately been hitting headlines over its poor state and the continuous friction between area residents and the contractor.
Tea and milk farmers who spoke to our reporter angrily expressed their disappointment with the contractor, saying that, their produce cannot reach processing factories resulting into huge losses.
They have now threatened to forcefully evict the contractor from the area if the government doesn’t come to their rescue.
