Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’I has now declared October 10 a public holiday. The day will henceforth be named Huduma Day.
Through a press statement to news room, Matiang’i has said the Holiday which was previously known as Moi Day, will be observed through national prayers that will highlight service and volunteerism to the community.
He has said that Kenyans are encouraged to participate in the prayers and promote national unity, social justice, cohesion and sustainable development in their communities. This will be for the benefit of present and future generations.
