In few days time, the KCSE results will be out, as a parent you don’t need to be so rough on your kid because he or she never scored the grade you expected. Just because he or she didn’t qualify for a degree course in the university doesn’t mean that the hope is gone. There are still so many course in technical colleges that are very important and can brighten the future of your child.
I took my time today to analyze different course offered in medical colleges that are very marketable. The minimum grade to join KMTC to pursue any course is a C-, however this many change depending with the year and results. For you to take a certain course, you first need to meet the required clusters that vary every year.Here are medical courses and their clusters.
1.Certificate in Health Records/ Technology
Mean Grade: D+
Cluster subjects:
D+ in English/Kiswahili and a D- in Mathematics
2.Certificate in Community Health Nursing
Mean Grade: C-
Cluster subjects:
C- in English/Kiswahili
C- in Biology/Biological Sciences
D+ in one of: Chemistry or Physics/Physical Science or Mathematics
3.Certificate in Nutrition and Dietetics
Mean Grade: D+
Cluster subjects:
D+ in English /Kiswahili
D+ in Biology /Biological Sciences
D plain in Chemistry/Physical Sciences
D plain in one of: Home Science/Physics/Agriculture/Mathematics/General Science.
4.Certificate in Medical Engineering
Mean Grade: C-
