It has become a norm that teachers always circle marks while awarding students their scores. However, the question many people are asking is that what is the function of this circling?
Many teachers or even don’t understand the functions of this circling of marks. Reason for this is because most teachers saw it adopted this from their previous teachers and when they became teachers, they automatically started circling the marks without even knowing the implication behind the circling. However, today I will give you the reasons why circling marks is necessary.
First and far most, Circling is viewed as part of framing of the marks. Frames are parts of the elements of a good map. This helps the marks look neat, visible and to avoid alterations. Students can be cheeky sometimes and can alter the marks to deceive their parents.
To avoid this alteration, marks are circled to make them remain the way they are. On the side, the visibility aspects helps the teachers to be keen on students marks. When counting the marks after the circling, you easily see all the students scores hence can’t deny students their rights by giving then wrong marks.
